Many triathletes hate swimming.
They do it because they love triathlon.
They do enough to get the swim out of the way.
One of the best pieces of feedback from my Freestyle Accelerator members that I often hear is this:
'"I now enjoy swimming"
But the only reason they now enjoy it is because they are improving and swimming has become easier and faster.
No one really hates swimming - they just hate putting time and effort into something and not getting the improvement returns.
The trouble is - swimming is not like running or cycling where you can simply put in higher volumes and intensities and see good improvement (for the majority).
It's too technical to be that straightforward.
This is why some people say they "hate swimming!"
So if this is you - I challenge you to...
First, develop a more efficient technique (yep, that means actually making technical changes and repeating them so they stick - even if it means you slow down temporarily).
Second, commit to a structured plan to build up this improved efficient technique.
Yeah, you might not enjoy it initially...
But once you start to see and feel change (swimming using less energy and oxygen and going faster) you will start to LOVE it!
And you will be proud that you turned it around for yourself :)
